Alice Elliot (Shadow Hearts)

why alice?: I fell in love with this design when I saw it on the cover of this obscure PS2 RPG. Nobody gives Shadow Hearts the respect it deserves. I bought it, intrigued by the gorgeous character designs, and it turns out it's a unique game. It takes place in the early 1900s, dealing with China and Japan and a main character who can merge with demons. There are some beautiful cutscenes, and although I have not beaten it yet, I really enjoy it. Alice is the quiet shy healer of the game. She's cute, though she does nothing for me personality-wise..

con notes: I guessed only 2 people at the convention would recognize this. I was wrong. More than five people did, and almost all were girls! I would not have picked this game as particularly girly so that was cool.

construction: I hate the skirt. It's partially pleated and fits badly, particularly over the petticoat. I could not get it right and eventually just gave up. The jacket is made out of simple cotton, which is unfortunate but it is all I had. It's also the wrong color, her outfit is more of a greenish blue. I made the broach out of Sculpey, and pieces of it broke off. I hate Sculpey. The buttons are not lined up properly but I think it looks ok as is. I will have to get new buttons for this when I can, since those were removed from my civil war union jacket. They're really old so they have a nice finish, but they say "Ohio" on them up close. I made those white gloves by hand out of swimsuit spandex.
