Fen Feiring (Gate Keepers)

why fen?: I was asked by a fellow cosplayer if I would be interested in doing this character. I agreed without having seen the show because the design was really cute and it was SO flattering to have someone ask me so nicely to do a costume for them (he is the one and only person to have EVER done that)! After completing the costume, I finally watched a few episodes. Turns out she has fire powers and a pet monkey.
con notes: Well, given that I was supposed to wear this Friday afternoon at Otakon, I totally missed the group pictures. ^^;; I was very sad about that. I did, however, find the guy who asked me to make this and it seemed to please him, so that was great! NOBODY AT OTAKON RECOGNIZED ME, even though Fen's A.E.G.I.S. ID card was included in the Otakon registration bag!!! AAAAAAAAARGH!!!! While hanging out with Sari, who was dressed as Kasumi, Steve Bennett came over and asked for a picture with us! hehe. That evening, I went out to Hooters and got a pic with the waitresses. Because, of course, there is something totally wrong with that- Fen is only 12 years old (despite the fact that she has slits on her dress up to her butt)!!!
construction:The dress is made out of red satin with yellow bias tape around the edges. The bow is yellow satin. On the sides, I used silver buttons and blue cord to make the decorations at the top of the slits. I styled my Sabrina wig into buns and put white satin ribbons in it. I made the earrings with wire and blue rhinestones. I bought red heeled shoes and cut off the buckles on them, and glued yellow rhinestones onto them. I wore brown plastic bangles and thigh high white stockings with this. Unfortunately, given all the stand up/sit down that happened on Friday, I somehow managed to tear the front panel of the dress so it has been retired because it is irreparable. :(
