Kari Yagami (Digimon 02)

why kari?: I love Digimon. Since I've already done my favorite character (TK, duh!), why not do another character I like? Kari is cute, wears pink, and has a camera around her neck as a fashion accessory. Digimon 02 is debatably better than Pokemon. I'm closer to Kari than TK since I'm female. The other major advantage to doing Kari is that I can hug all the TKs there and Davises. YEAH! I love them all. Those three have a bizarre little love triangle. ^_^
con notes: I wore this to match most of my roommates at AX- my sis was TK, Matt was Tai, Chris was Oikawa, and Keith was Joe. We were a cute little group. Much to my surprise, I found a TON of other Digimon cosplayers!! We got some giant group pics on Friday and Sunday. It was amazing!!! We started a digicosplay group to meet up again with more costumes.
construction: Well, I bought the yellow shorts but hemmed them to make them shorter. I used stretchy cotton interlock material for the shirt and gloves. I put my camera on a yellow strap. The belt had a big round silver buckle that I made myself. I painted a hairclip red. I got to use my REAL hair and that was awesome. Brown contacts were necessary as well. I wore white knee highs and put boot covers over normal old sneakers. The boot covers were made of foam covered in leftover pink and white fabric with a zipper which made them easy to take on and off. I secured them on my shoe with masking tape- next time, I will find a stronger white tape. My awesome sister bought me a cute Gatomon which I carried around.
