Palom & Porom (Final Fantasy IV)creation: March 2002worn at: Akon 13 why palom & porom?: For years, my sister and I have been planning to be the twins. I was completely obsessed with FF4 back in the day. Yes, I'm old enough to have fully experienced The Day. The twins, more specifically, Palom, were my favorite characters, although Rydia was awesome as well. con notes: I hung out with my sis at her art table for some of Friday at Akon, but the costume wasn't comfortable so I had to get changed after a few hours. :/ I might bring this to AX just to get more time with it! construction: Ok, I based this completely off of the sprites. I understand that there is some nice Amano outwork out there, but I am a big supporter of sprites. It doesn't matter if people don't recognize it or think that it's overly simplistic because it was super fun. The hardest part was finding a pattern for a jumpsuit. Apparently, they out amazingly out of style these days. I made the entire costume for a very low cost thanks to Walmart's cheap fabric collections. The cape and jumpsuit are exactly the same fabric as I used for Porom. The shoulder pads are friendly plastic covered in yellow fleece, and attached with velcro to the jumpsuit. I had a lot of leftover yellow fleece, so I also used it for the collar and armbands. The medallion is wood spraypainted yellow and attached by a yellow ribbon. I bought cheap white canvas shoes and spraypainted those yellow as well. My sister and I had matching wigs which I styled into opposite ponytails.
