Rutee Katrea (Tales of Destiny)

why rutee?: Tales of Destiny reminds me a lot of Star Ocean, but it's not quite as fabulous. It does have a cast of truly bizarre characters, and Rutee is definitely my favorite. She's the money-grubbing, trash-talking HEALER. Yeah. She's *that* cool. Her Swordian Atwight is spiffy too. Erin is a huuuuuuuuge Tales fan and has already done Mary and Philia, so she went nuts when I suggested the idea that I might go as Rutee.
con notes: I hate this costume and it's probably only seen about 2 hours of total con time.
construction: I actually own boots which can work for hers. They are just thigh high white boots folded down. I just added some buckles to my existing black gloves and stuck a red thing on them. I made the shorts and part of the top out of black swimsuit spandex. I had to buy the wig and stockings. I didn't buy anything else, it's just leftovers from other costumes. All the belts are made of black plastic, and the buckles are lightweight aluminum wire. The big belt around the waist is felt. I never made the shoulder pads. Oh well.
